Open letter calling upon UNHABITAT to maintain its commitment to water sector funding and support for GWOPA

Prior to the 23rd Session of the Governing Council of UN-HABITAT(11-15 April 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya), civil society organisations, trade unions and public water companies sent an open letter to Mr. Joan Clos, UN-HABITAT's Executive Director. 39 organisations expressed their concern about plans for UN-HABITAT to downscale its priority to water and sanitation programmes and specifically urged the agency to sustain its support to the Global Water Operators Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA). .
